The Hawaii Edison Alliance is a comprehensive and successful partnership
with Hawaii schools to raise student achievement and turn around low
performing schools. The Alliance model builds upon Edison's record of
success, leveraging over 15 years of experience utilizing best practices
and proven systems into an empowering partnership with district schools,
and is carried out by a dedicated on site team of curriculum, leadership
and achievement specialists.
Currently, the Hawaii Alliance is seeking a Vice President Educational
Services to manage Edison's primary focus of student achievement in
schools. In this highly visible role, you will ensure excellence in
service delivery of all Edison products by collaborating and partnering
with district and charter school boards, driving consistently superior
achievement gains and profitability within assigned sites. Reporting to
the Regional General Manager, the successful applicant will manage
client relationships as well as the operational/financial/budgetary/legal management of the schools.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
To qualify, candidates must possess a mastery level
knowledge of Standards-Based Instruction and Assessment, knowledge and
experience with what makes good school organizations, and familiarity
with state and federal standards. Experience identifying good
instruction, diagnosing problems and making effective recommendations in
a school setting is required. Familiarity with assessment methods and
data analysis is a must. The ideal candidate will have an administrative
certification, a minimum of 10 years experience in K-12 education (3 or
more years in 9-12 education), and a Master's degree in Curriculum and
Instruction or in a specialty area such as Elementary Education,
Secondary Education or Educational Administration & Supervision. He/she
must be proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel and
Power Point). Candidates must live in the region in which he/she will
work or be able to relocate to that region. A minimum of 5 years
experience as a building administrator (principal/assistant principal)
or comparable educational supervisory position is preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of budget management, finance, and operating
procedures to support P & L of up to $20 million is also a plus.
