NATIONAL CURRICULUM COORDINATORS (3)
(MATH, READING AND ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING)

The Hawaii Edison Alliance is a comprehensive and successful partnership
with Hawaii schools to raise student achievement and turn around low
performing schools. The Alliance model builds upon Edison's record of
success, leveraging over 15 years of experience utilizing best practices
and proven systems into an empowering partnership with district schools,
and is carried out by a dedicated on site team of curriculum, leadership
and achievement specialists.
Currently, the Hawaii Alliance is seeking National Curriculum
Coordinators in the areas of Math, Reading, and English Language
Learning. National Curriculum Coordinators (NCC), in conjunction with
the Vice-President of Educational Services (VPES), will support student
achievement by providing direct support to principals, department
chairs, curriculum coordinators, and teachers of schools in their
region. They will provide pre-service and ongoing training to staff at
both national conferences and at school sites and will be in school
approximately 80% of the time during the school calendar year. NCCs work
closely with regional and central instructional support staff and assist
in monitoring the implementation of core programs in classrooms. They
also develop materials and establish protocols that support their work.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Qualified candidates must have a Master's Degree in
the subject being applied for or 10+ years' experience teaching that
subject in grades 9-12. The successful candidates will be self-motivated
and directed and possess excellent research, written, and oral
communication skills. For Math and Reading, a minimum of two years'
experience as a Department Chair or Curriculum Coach (or similar
position) is required. For English Language Learning, the ideal
candidate will be certified in ESL (ESOL, CLAP, ELL, ESLL); have a
minimum of two years' experience as an ELL Program owner or coordinator
(or similar position); and possess a strong understanding of literacy
development and writing instruction.
