We currently have the following position in San
Francisco, CA.
Finance Manager
OBJECTIVES:
This position will be the only financial employee and will perform all
financial planning, analysis and forecasting activities. This position
will be the financial liaison with the regional head office (TPNA) and
will take responsibility for enforcing financial policies, answering
questions and providing information regarding any shared service
financial activities (accounts payable, accounting, risk management,
taxation, purchasing and expense reporting). This person will be the
direct financial contact to TSF Senior Management and the TPC Research
Division and will be responsible for providing relevant financial
information in a timely manner.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Perform the budgeting and forecasting activities including preparing
key communications, scheduling, executive meeting preparation,
documentation and reporting. This also includes surfacing strategic
issues for resolution.
- Work with Regional Home Office (TPNA) personnel for month-end close
activities including variance analysis, accounting adjustments and
management reporting.
- Assume the role as the primary financial contact with the Parent
Company (TPC). Includes communication of budget and forecast
information, answering inquiries and preparing various reports and
analyses as requested.
- Assume the role of financial liaison with the regional home office.
Duties include enforcement of financial polices and procedures,
answering inquiries, providing necessary information and following-up on
issues related to accounts payable, accounting, risk management,
taxation, purchasing, and expense reporting.
- Identify and develop effective and efficient project reporting scheme
for billing for intercompany service agreements.
- Oversee and manage timesheet and research project reporting
activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, including well-rounded
coursework in other disciplines.
- Minimum of eight years' experience in financial analysis, planning
and accounting.
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP).
- Understanding of financial analysis methods, tools and concepts to
prepare forecasts and perform analyses.
- Strong analytical and computer skills.
- Effective decision-making and problem solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal)
skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational/project management
skills.
- MBA preferred.
- CPA preferred.

- Strategic vision ability to recognize, forecast and
communicate events, which may impact the business.
- Leadership ability to guide a team in day-to-day and long-term
related activities.
- Communication ability to communicate ideas and data both
verbally and in writing, in a persuasive, organized and appropriate
manner, including running meetings and preparing presentations for
executive audiences.
- Analytical ability to determine methods and types of analyses
to be performed to address a business question.
- Management ability to set priorities for a team and meet
specific deadlines in a changing environment. Ability to be flexible,
accommodating, and to deal with change effectively.
- Customer Service Orientation ability to gain trust of
executives and contribute to their success from information gained
through networking and an understanding of business.
- Teamwork ability to foster good working relationships among
team members, and work effectively in and contribute to a team
environment.
- Entrepreneurial ability to take ownership of a team's
activities and projects, and consistently display "out of the box"
thinking.
